About travertine
Layered by water,
warm in every light.
Travertine forms in layers around mineral springs, which gives it soft bands of ivory, cream and honey and the small pores it is known for. We fill those pores in the shop for a smooth surface that wipes clean, or leave them open for a rustic finish.
Like marble, travertine reacts to acids such as lemon juice and vinegar, so it is at its best in bathrooms, around fireplaces and on outdoor bars rather than on a busy kitchen prep counter.

Skip vinegar, lemon and acidic bathroom cleaners.
02
Wipe spills quickly
Acids can etch the surface, so blot them as soon as you see them.
03
Reseal on schedule
Every 6 to 12 months, or once with our lifetime sealant.
04
Use trays and coasters
Keep perfume bottles and toiletries off the bare surface.
